Repent. Repeat. (2018)
This project was my senior thesis project. It consisted of a tapestry made up of pieces of crocheted plastic bags that the video was projected onto. The video shows the process of how I turned the plastic bags into yarn, crocheted them, and how this guilt of using plastic and trying to make up for it took over my life. I started this project trying to find a new way to recycle and reuse plastic shopping bags that I had collected, and through this endless process made me question the efforts of recycling. Recycling is an important effort, but not a solution because the time and energy it takes to recycle plastics can never keep up with the excessive amounts we are using.
